Obeying God personally is a blessing to others, and it honours God. God speaks to use in various ways in order to teach, transform and guide us.
The Bible gives us an example of Jonah. The Lord sent him to the people in Nineveh for the first time, but he refused. Then, He gave him a second chance to go and warn them because of His mercy to avoid perishing. Nowadays, God still has plans to fulfil through us in the interest of others as well. God speaks to us in several ways, but sometimes we don’t care about it. We must obey the will of God even though it may be challenging. We should do it without resisting like Jonah, keeping in mind the trouble he encountered by spending three days in the belly of a big fish.
Often, we act according to our own will instead of obeying and putting into practice the will of God. Looking at Biblical example, Abel gave a pleasing offering to God, whereas the one of his brother Cain wasn’t. Then, God gave Cain a second chance to do what is right in order to be accepted. Unfortunately, Cain decided to kill his brother instead.
There different things that lead people to boost and disobey God including discrimination on tribal grounds, honour and position, riches, or wrong doctrines. Then, a person can deceive himself and fail to obey God, which affects the blessing of others. Thus, we should humble ourselves and put into practice God’s purpose for the blessing of others and His honour.
